Well there was no slowing down for El Riad in September.

We started off with the Shrine Cup Golf Tournament on September 7. A great day was had by all the golfers and the weather was perfect. Thanks to Ryan Simmons and his whole team for organizing another record setting event.

Next up was our Augustana Shrine Football Game on Saturday, September 16. The weather was not perfect but got better as the day got going. We had a great game to be involved in that day. Dick Ericcson was honored as our Shriner of the day. Thanks to Ken Ward and the entire committee for all the work that went into making this a great event as always. The Culinary Unit did a great job with the food and the Potes Aids had a cold beverage ready for all who wanted one.

El Riad Shrine was honored to give Luke Buriak the game ball and to honor him at the game. Luke is Paul and Shellie Buriak’s son and are part of our shrine family.

September we started Back to Lodge Nights. This is a program we worked on with our Sioux Falls lodges to encourage Shrine Masons to be more active when they can. Trinity started out the Back to Lodge nights on September 11. They had a great speaker and almost 100 RSVPs for the steak dinner that was paid for by El Riad. Unity’s night will be held on September 28 and Minnehaha’s night will be October 3. Please try to attend your Back to Lodge night if you can.

Mitchell will be having their Sportsman’s Banquet on September 28. This is a great fundraiser and a chance to win some fun hunting related stuff and guns. Sioux Falls will have our banquet on October 3 and tickets are almost gone for both events.

The Shrine Circus and Fund Raising Association (SCAFRA) will be hosting there 31st Annual Conference in Sioux Falls from October 19–22. We will have a lot of out of town Shriners in town those days. El Riad will host the conference with a dinner at our building in downtown Sioux Falls that Friday night. Marv Lovro is the 2017 SCAFRA President and we are all looking forward to the chance to show off our great city and Temple!

Thanks for everything you do, please remember We Are all El Riad!
